A frequent misconception about sexual violence is that there is nothing a person can do to prevent it from happening, which is far from the truth. There are several different ways we serve Georgia communities, and we're always expanding our efforts as well.
So what type of work does Sunflowers Against Sexual Assault do?
It always is an honor for me to be able to speak and share my story. It is my hope that each time I speak, I am able to reach empower a survivor who is listening.
The Clothesline Project is a visual art display that represents those who have experienced violence in that community. I was able to make my own shirt that is now displayed in Athens to bring awareness to sexual assault, and in turn, provide another opportunity for people in the Athens community to be connected to The Cottage's resources.
